While their wagging tails and adorable antics make life sweeter, keeping your house clean might feel like a never-ending task.

"This new furry pet, no matter what it is, will turn your house upside down and will require you to work a little harder to keep your home spick and span," says Bronwyn Ragavan, brand manager for Chemico.

A new pet brings with it love and cuddles, as well as dirty paws, scatterings of fur and a few chewed items. But no matter how chaotic your house becomes your life will always be better for having them.

Ragavan suggests a few clever tricks to help keep your home looking spotless while you enjoy your new furry family member:
