With the party's Central Election Committee having already cleared 66 candidates, including all sitting MLAs, the Congress is holding back its release to avoid a similar internal rebellion.
Party sources indicate that the leadership is carefully watching the growing unrest in the BJP and using the delay to deliberate over the remaining 24 seats. On Thursday, a sub-committee of senior Congress leaders, including MPs from Haryana, began discussions to finalize candidates for these pending seats.
"We've provided our input, and all party leaders are offering their suggestions. Decisions will be taken collectively, with MPs weighing in on all 90 seats, not just the remaining 24," said Kumari Selja, Congress MP from Sirsa.
