BJP HITS OUT AT CONG AS CAMPAIGN ENDS
The Daily Guardian|October 04, 2024
In a heated escalation ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, BJP leaders Himanta Biswa Sarma and Anurag Thakur launched scathing attacks on the Congress party, accusing it of being complicit in drug trafficking and exploiting vulnerable communities to win votes.
BJP HITS OUT AT CONG AS CAMPAIGN ENDS

The speeches, delivered in separate rallies in Sonipat and Palwal, were part of a larger BJP effort to paint the Congress as a party deeply entrenched in criminal networks and unfulfilled promises.

At a public rally in Sonipat, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma raised serious concerns about drug trafficking routes linking Assam to Punjab and Haryana. He revealed that during multiple interrogations, suspects disclosed that drugs like heroin and ganja were being transported to these northern states.

"Every day, we recover heroin, ganja, or similar substances. When we interrogate where they are being taken, the response is always Punjab and Haryana," Sarma told the crowd. "You all know who these people are. In the past three and a half years, our police have apprehended or eliminated over 200 individuals involved in this. I urge you, don't allow those with ties to such activities to enter politics."
