WHAT IS PCOS?
PCOS is a syndrome where amounts of androgens (male sexual characteristic hormones) are produced in the ovaries interfering with the monthly periods. PCOS symptoms vary but often include:
Irregular or missed periods
Weight gain, especially around the abdomen
Acne or oily skin
Excess hair growth on the face or body (hirsutism)
Thinning hair on the scalp
Difficulty conceiving
