UP govt tells Supreme Court: Won't act on demolition notices against houses of accused in Bahraich violence case till today

The Supreme Court in the case Jamiat Ulama I Hind v. North Delhi Municipal Corporation observed wherein the State of Uttar Pradesh informed that the authorities will not act on the demolition notices issued against the buildings of certain residents of Bahraich who are accused of rioting till tomorrow.

The counsel, Additional Solicitor General KM Nataraj appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh made the said submission.

The bench comprising of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan in the case was considering an application filed seeking protection against the proposed demolitions, which being pursuant to a mentioning.

The court noted that communal riots had taken place in the UP town of Bahraich last week.
