HOW WILL IT FUNCTION? Team comprising 60 police personnel, including a deputy superintendent of police, will exclusively handle high profile visitors without disrupting regular police operations
FPJ NEWS SERVICE

In a significant move aimed at optimizing police operations and ensuring seamless security for VIP and VVIP movements, a Special Protocol Branch has been established in Gandhinagar.

The branch, comprising 160 police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), will exclusively handle security arrangements for dignitaries such as the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, and other high-profile visitors.

Being Gujarat's capital, Gandhinagar frequently hosts dignitaries for events like the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, various exhibitions, and summits.

This has traditionally required police officers from across the district to drop their daily responsibilities to manage security arrangements.

With the formation of the Special Protocol Branch, this burden will now be alleviated, allowing district police to focus on their routine duties.

Enhanced Focus on VIP Security
