Homeopath practitioners staged a demonstration at MY Hospital on Saturday, demanding strict action against those responsible for the murder of Dr Sunil Sahu.

The protesting doctors also attempted to block roads, but they relented after police intervention and assurances of swift action. Dr Sahu's murder has left his family shattered. His father, Jagdish, broke down when his son's body arrived for post mortem. "He was my only son. I made him a doctor by working as a labourer," Jagdish said.

Dr Sahu had recently been preparing for his younger sister Asha's wedding in April, an event the family had been looking forward to. After the postmortem, his body was taken to Kumbhraj, the family's ancestral village in Guna district, for the last rites.
