Awry love story: Teen held

In a grim turn of events, a 17-year-old boy has been detained in Meerut for allegedly murdering his close friend over a love affair gone awry.

The victim, Abhinav, a Class 11 student, was reported missing on Saturday evening, only to be found dead hours later.

The accused has confessed, claiming the crime stemmed from an act of betrayal involving his girlfriend.

Abhinav, the son of a grocery merchant in Varnika City under the Kankarkheda police station area, was a promising student preparing for engineering entrance exams.
