Biden U-turn from okay to Israel to hit Iran oil targets
The Free Press Journal|October 06, 2024
The US President has said that the Israelis have not yet decided what sort of response to give Iran for its attack on the Jewish state. Addressing an impromptu briefing at the White House, Biden also walked back from his suggestion that targeting Iranian oil fields would be fair game for Israel.

He said the teams were in touch constantly and "They are trying to figure out - this is High Holidays as well. They are not going to make a decision immediately. And so we are going to wait and see what they when they want to talk." "I think if I were in their shoes, I'd be thinking about other alternatives than striking oilfields," he said and clarified later in the press conference that what was being discussed was between him and the Israelis. Biden's previous remarks that it was ok to hit Iranian oil facilities had pushed up oil prices.
