BJP: a hit at India's core

Soon after Congress Sleader Rahul Gandhi sought the arrest of industrialist Gautam Adani and accused PM Modi and a "network" of shielding him, the BJP hit back, accusing the Congress of trying to harm the markets through its propaganda. BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra, while speaking at the party headquarters, also accused Gandhi of being part of an "international structure" which had US politician Ilhan Omar and businessman George Soros as key players and which wants to "undermine the Indian economy".

"Your structure wants to dent Indian markets. The Gandhi family and the Congress are not able to tolerate that we are on the way to becoming the thirdlargest economy and that is why they are attacking the Indian market and economy. About 2.5 crore small investors who had invested in the share market have had to suffer losses today," he pointed out, while referring to the crash in Adani Group and other stocks during the day.

The BJP also urged the Congress to move court against the company if it was sure of the veracity of its charges, instead of attacking through the media.
