The petition, titled "Rollback Pub & Restaurant End Timing to 11:30pm with Enhanced Law Enforcement," highlights a range of issues stemming from these establishments and calls for urgent government intervention.

This comes in the wake of the accident that shed light on the nuisance caused by pubs to the residents of Kalyani Nagar in Pune. It brought to the forefront the issues regarding the law and order situation in the area, particularly due to late-night pubs.

After the accident, it was revealed that the 17-year-old boy, who killed two people with his Porsche in the Kalyani Nagar area early on Sunday, spent 48,000 on food and drinks on the night of the accident.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Excise Department on Tuesday sealed two outlets, Cosie restaurant and Hotel Blak Club, where the minor boy involved in a fatal car crash was served liquor.

While Cosie is located in Koregaon Park, an area adjacent to Kalyani Nagar, the Blak Club is in Mundhwa.
