Recently released data by Campus France, the French agency for the promotion of higher education, a French government agency that operates under the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, has revealed that there has been a sharp increase of 12% in Indian students pursuing education in the European country.
According to the data, a total of 4,30,466 international students were enrolled in French universities in 2023-24, which meant a year-over-year increase of 4.6% in international students in France.
This increase, according to Donatienne Hissard, Director-General of Campus France, is driven by attractive institutions and the higher education system of the country. "(These) figures reveal the consolidation of the attractiveness of French higher education and all its institutions. The latest Shanghai ranking also confirms this trend, with 25 universities and schools in the ranking, and institutions going up," she said.
