'Digital Personal Data Protection Act virtually exempts govt'

In this conversation, the judge provides deep insights into the new digital private data protection framework and the Srikrishna Commission set up after the 1992-93 Mumbai riots. Excerpts from an interview given to Anushka Jagtiani.

The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act was enacted in 2023 based on your committee recommendations. You have said that the legislation grants many exemptions to the government. Is it a cause of concern because the executive can infringe on the fundamental right to privacy?
