DUMPER DRIVER HELD 8 DAYS AFTER MODEL'S DEATH

Almost eight days after the tragic death of a 25-year-old model in a road accident in Bandra (West), police have arrested a dumper driver for allegedly causing death by negligence.

The accused was arrested from his native place in Bhagan Vigaha village, Bihar, on December 11 under a transit remand and was brought to Mumbai on Thursday. He will be produced in the Bandra court on Friday. The accused, a resident of Khar Danda, is a driver with no prior criminal record.

The deceased, Shivani Singh, 25, was a model residing in Malad (West) and working in the film industry. Following the accident on December 5, the dumper driver fled the scene and switched off his mobile phone to evade arrest.
