Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, during a journey aboard an Ambernath-bound slow local train on Friday, directly interacted with commuters and outlined several major projects aimed at transforming Mumbai's suburban railway network.
Vaishnaw will also visit a Ganesh mandal in the city. Vaishnaw boarded the suburban train at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 2.34pm and alighted at Bhandup station at 3.18pm after his 27 km-long journey.
Before boarding the local train, the minister also inspected Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
