Harshwardhan Patil, a former BJP leader and cabinet minister, has made a shocking revelation that he secretly assisted Supriya Sule during the Lok Sabha elections to help her secure the Baramati constituency. At that time, Patil was still affiliated with the BJP. A prominent figure in the sugar lobby from western Maharashtra, Patil has now officially joined the NCP SP party in the presence of Sharad Pawar.
He is keen to contest the upcoming elections from the Indapur assembly seat in Pune and has received indications that he may be given a ticket although the official announcement will follow the seat-sharing arrangements within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
