HD Revanna to remain in sIT custody till May 14

Revanna, an accused in the kidnap case, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4 after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the Special Representatives Court.

Later the 17th ACMM judge Ravindra remanded Revanna in SIT custody for three days on May 5. The SIT custody ended on Tuesday.

During the hearing in the court, SIT Public Prosecutor BN Jagadish filed a remand petition requesting the court to continue keeping Revanna in SIT custody as the former minister has been non-cooperative during investigation.

Jagadish said that the accused held a press conference but he is not willing to sign the statement copy advocate Revanna's Murthy D Naik said that despite ill health, his 66-year-old client cooperated with the SIT and answered their questions. He urged the court to grant bail to HD Revanna.

Naik also pointed out that Revanna cannot be forced to sign a statement prepared by the SIT if his client has not said those things.
