While Bappa devotees are busy in festivities, a team of green warriors strives every year to ensure that the Ganpati idols, which return to the shore after being immersed, are cleared to keep the city's beaches clean.

The volunteers have been organising such special drives for the past seven years.

Beach Warriors is a group of green activists carrying out weekly beach cleanup drives. They realised that the campaign is most needed during Ganeshotsav.
