The 'wagh nakh' or tiger clawshaped weapon used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to kill Bijapur Sultanate's General Afzal Khan, finally landed at the Mumbai Airport on Wednesday. After verification by the customs department, it was taken to Satara, where it will be displayed from Friday.

Cultural Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had promised the citizens of Maharashtra that the weapon will be brought from the Victoria Albert Museum, London, and made several attempts for it. The museum in London initially agreed to give the weapon for one year, but the state government persuaded it to hand it over for display in the state for three years, he said. Wagh nakh will be kept in the museum at Satara for 10 months.
