Slew of infra projects, slew of questions, too

At the state cabinet meeting on September 30, infrastructure projects worth over Rs 40,000 crore were approved.

Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray raised a few questions on a project recently approved by the state cabinet on Thursday. Thackeray asked how the tendering process for the Rs 14,000-crore Gaimukh-Bhayandar Road project was completed in just 20 days. Why was the shortcut of short-tendering adopted for such an important project, he asked, speaking to the media. Bids were invited on September 13 and opened on October 3, protecting the interests of the contractor, alleged the former minister.
