Twenty-two seamen from India find themselves still trapped in the tangled wreckage of the ship that struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge at Batlimore, reports the New York Times. In the mangled heap, with chunks of steel jutting out above the water like metallic icebergs, the 22 crew members, who have remained on the ship, named the Dali, since the disaster on Tuesday, are barely visible.

Since the accident, which killed six construction workers, the crew members find themselves in unexpected media glare. While keeping the ship operable, they are swamped with questions from officials investigating the night-time disaster.
