The country's cricket governing body Emirates Cricket Board is an affiliated member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, its fondness for professional cricket is over four decades old.
Incidentally, ICC headquarters functions from Dubai due to its centralised location, safety, security, and futuristic emphasis.
