KIND-HEARTED Plymouth Argyle fans have raised cash so a former star player does not need to sell a priceless medal.
Supporters of the Pilgrims sprang into action when former midfielder David Norris put his League One championship medal on sale.
Norris, nicknamed “Chuck”, after the movie star, played 45 games during Argyle’s march to the League One, at the time called Division Two, title in 2004.
Norris took to X, formerly Twitter, to ask for offers for his medal from fans and collectors so he could pay some legal bills.
At 9.11am on Sunday, he said the best offer was £500, and he would “ideally” consider a buy-back option.
In response, Argyle supporters soon set up a crowdfunding appeal on the JustGiving online platform. They were asking for £1,000, but rapidly surpassed the target.
