THE former owner of a business selling hydroponic growing equipment has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after he admitted growing cannabis at a former pub. Francis Alan Taylor, of Edith Avenue, Plymouth, was arrested by police following an investigation in July 2020 which had seen officers discover a vast cannabis-growing operation at an industrial unit at the Devonshire Meadows, Roborough.
Information gathered from the industrial unit in Roborough led officers to another location, including a former pub in Cattedown - the Passage House - where officers found a number of young cannabis plants inside a tent, similar to the ones found at the Roborough unit.
Police also found a large quantity of boxed-up growing equipment, including a further ten tents. Taylor, aged 41 was arrested in connection with the plants found at the Passage Inn and was later charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and producing cannabis between June 30, 2020 and July 5, 2020.
