Daley this week was competing on the international stage for the first time since August 2021 and was part of the British quartet that won world gold in the team event on Friday - his fourth world title, 15 years after his first. The 29-year-old said he was "terrified" before the event but was in fine form as he and Williams took silver with a score of 422.37.
China's Lian Junjie and Yang Hao took gold in the event, while Oleksii Sereda and Kirill Boliukh of Ukraine finished third. Daley and Williams' silver medal also set a new British diving record, becoming Britain's seventh of the championships, beating a previous best of six earned in Budapest in 2022 and Daley insisted that the "real work" starts now in the build-up to Paris.
"I was terrified when I woke up this morning, terrified eating breakfast, and at lunch!" Daley said.
