THIS is the face of a killer who has been locked up for 15 years, after a Plymouth Crown Court jury found him guilty of manslaughter.
Luke Dann, aged 37, was on trial for the murder of David Kelly, but was found not guilty of that offence. Instead, on Tuesday, he was found guilty of manslaughter.
Yesterday, there were gasps in the court room as a judge sente yn ced Dann, of Beechwood Rise, Manor Park, Plymouth, to 15 years in prison.
Emergency services were called to Leigham Manor Drive on the evening of March 21, following reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian. David Kelly, a local 42-year-old man, was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Later that evening, Dann was arrested on suspicion of murder. When interviewed, he described how he had been driving home when he was attacked and said: “I was in fear for my safety.” He denied intentionally hitting anyone with his car and pleaded not guilty at court.
