RAMI Al Hajj has appreciated his step-by-step introduction into the starting line-up at Plymouth Argyle rather than being thrown in at the deep end.
The Swedish midfielder joined the Pilgrims from Danish club Odense for a reported fee of around £840,000 on transfer deadline day at the end of August without having played any games since May. So it was always going to take him time to get up to speed, especially given the intensity of Championship action.
Al Hajj played as a second half substitute in the 3-2 home win against Sunderland and the 1-0 defeat away to West Bromwich Albion before making his first Argyle start in the Sky-televised clash against Luton Town last Friday night. And the 22-year-old marked the occasion by opening the scoring in the eighth minute, setting his new club on the way to an impressive 3-1 victory.
