NEWLY-APPOINTED Plymouth Argyle first team coach Peter Cavanagh expressed his excitement at joining a club "on the up" after becoming a member of Steven Schumacher's backroom staff.
The 41-year-old has linked up with the Pilgrims having most recently worked at Premier League champions Manchester City as an academy coach.
Cavanagh spent his youth days with Liverpool, and went on to feature for Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town, Rochdale, Altrincham and Southport during his playing career.
He was a player-coach at the latter club in 2015, and joined Everton's academy as a foundation coach in the same year.
The former right-back spent seven years with the Toffees, where he became youth phase lead coach, before he joined City as a lead foundation coach in January 2022.
