Fossils acknowledge Evans with his own 'This is Your Life’
The Herald|December 23, 2023
THERE was a festive feeling in the air at St Mellion on Thursday but unfortunately, the weather did not join in.
Fossils acknowledge Evans with his own 'This is Your Life’

The players were expecting damp conditions underfoot but were disappointed by the drizzle, grey clouds and occasional heavy showers that failed to move on during play.

This week, the golfers played an individual format that evidently had steadily evolved since last April. Based on a format originally played during Dave Vincent's captaincy, each hole was blessed with a riddle that required playing the hole with a particular club (or part), rewarding particular shots or scores, awarding penalties for selecting easier tee shots and so on throughout the round.

Inevitably, this lead to group huddles on each tee to determine how it had to be played but in doing so increased the fun of the day.

Following the morning's golf, over 70 Fossils would reassemble later to enjoy the annual Christmas meal.
