Foster set for Argyle job

Argyle director of football Neil Dewsnip would not confirm that Ian Foster, the former England under-18s, under-19s and under20s head coach, would be taking over as the Pilgrims' first-team boss at a Press call at Home Park yesterday lunchtime, ahead of the FA Cup third round tie against Sutton United today.

However, he admitted: "I'm really excited about what hasn't happened yet but we are really close to an appointment.

"That appointment is going to be a terrific coach and somebody that I look forward to working with extremely soon."
