Full-strength Gladiators show just what they are capable of

WITH a full septet available for the first time this season – and for quite some time – the Plymouth ProwPark Gladiators showed just what they are capable of with a superb 54-34 win over the Edinburgh Monarchs in the Cab Direct Championship.

With number one Nico Covatti returned to the track and delivered a superb 11 point haul and he was superbly backed up by all his teammates who chipped in to secure a much-needed win for Garry May’s side.

Dan Thompson’s fine season continued with another 11 points, while Alfie Bowtell (5+1), Kyle Newman (7+3), Ben Barker 6+1 and reserves Joe Thompson (8) and Jacob Hook (6+2) all contributed to one of the biggest home wins seen at the Coliseum for a number of years.

With Plymouth also winning the meeting in Scotland, then it meant another bonus point for the Gladiators, who are now sixth in the table, having raced only seven of their meetings so far this summer.
