Grimshaw turns on the style in win for Tradesmans

STEVE CHAPMAN 501 LEAGUE

Grimshaw put away 16 and 13 darters in that feat and walked away with 13 ton-plusses overall, whilst Grimshaw also performed well in the doubles phase with Keanan Grimshaw (26.13) for a 2-0 win.

Lewis Byrne was influential in the win with 11 tons, whilst Steven Smout finished on ten three-figure scores for the defeated team and team-mate Beau Carter was a 3-2 winner thanks to a 14-dart leg and a 96 checkout.

Mike Pearce heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than 13 times to lead St Levans to an 11-0 win away at Duchy.

In the 180 stakes, 'here come the girls' was the call as Hayley Brant and Anna Pearce, who recently won an open competition at the Cherry Tree, both added maximums.

Jordan Heath was a ten-ton hitter for the defeated home side, whilst team-mate Rob Wills was narrowly edged out by Anna Pearce despite hitting a 16-darter.

Leaders Cherry Tree B scored an impressive 8-3 win over the talented Victory A but still had their gap at the top cut to a solitary point.

Mike Whatley's was the most impressive competitor on display with his 13-ton haul accented by a 158 checkout that was the best of the week and season so far.

Whatley's team-mate Mark Shears found ton-plus scores with regularity to complete a 12 ton-plus personal tally.

Scott Wapshott showed moments of brilliance with two maximums and a 13-darter coming in a 3-1 individual win.

That leg better a 15-dart leg for Shears in his 3-1 win and a leg in 15 by Whatley, who defeated Kelvin Rowe 3-2 in spite of some fine form by his adversary.

Rowe's 121 checkout in that epic battle ticked his ton tally over to the 12 mark, whilst team-mate Scott Lawrey netted the defeated visitors' only maximum.
