Falmouth were due to kick their season off at Bashley on Saturday, but the match was postponed with the Bashley pitch not yet ready to use after a significant investment during the close season. Like many clubs, Bashley were hit hard by postponements last year and have had a new drainage system installed at the Veho Community Stadium.
That work was delayed leaving the club with no option but to postpone the clash with Falmouth, who may now have to travel to the New Forest – a 400 mile-plus round trip – in midweek to play the fixture.
The pitch should be playable by the time Tavi head there on October 26, but the cancellation means tonight presents Falmouth with their first Southern League match – and with it at their Bickland Park ground, a fair-sized crowd should be in attendance.
