Jealous thug pushed knife into ex-partner
The Herald|December 28, 2023
A JEALOUS ex pushed a knife into his terrified former partner during a "brutal, sustained and at times sadistic" two-hour ordeal. Joshua Hampton, 27, also punched the woman repeatedly and ripped her clothes off of her.

Hampton, most recently of Tavistock, appeared at Truro Crown Court for sentencing having pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats with a bladed article in a public place. The incident took place in Liskeard on October 17 of this year.

Prosecuting the case, Ed Bailey said the victim and Hampton had been in an on/off relationship for four years and had a child together before the relationship ended in 2019.

After the split Hampton twice ended up in court for offences relating to the same victim. On the day of the more recent attack on October 17, Hampton attended the victim's property at 10am. She returned from dropping her daughter off at nursery when Hampton came up behind her.

He pushed her through the door, took the keys and unlocked the door. Hampton began his attack by pushing the victim into her bedroom and telling her she wasn't leaving. He started interrogating her about whether or not she was seeing another man and demanded her phone.
