John's the main Marin again for champions

JOHN Mann and Peter Holland fired life into reigning Steve Chapman 501 League champions Fawn B's title push as the pair hit 13 ton-plusses each in an 11-0 success at Ker St that sees them on top the table.

Lee Agar was also prominent with 12 three-figure scores, whilst Dave Matthews reached 11 and Andy Bates rounded off a ten-ton haul with a maximum.

Bates was joined in hitting a three treble visit on the night by teammate Mann and Fred Goldsmith, who also claimed a share of the highest checkout of the week with a 120 score.

That effort beat two 115 finishes in the same match as Agar equalled the feat of opponent Lewis Byrne in a 3-2 win for the former.

Byrne and Agar were well matched throughout that titanic tussle as both players nailed an 18-dart leg in the tie to go with their big finishes.

Goldsmith also checked a leg in 18 during a 3-0 singles game that contained both his 180 and 120 checkout; a fine performance from the veteran marksman.

Jason Pinkerton led the way with 12 three-figure scores for former league leaders Victory C, who came from 4-2 down to defeat King Billy 7-4.

Pinkerton was well supported by team-mate Billy Evans, who threw ten tons of his own, whilst the contest's highest checkout was ploughed home by Mark Shears in one visit from 113.

Pinkerton's crucial 13-darter in a 3-2 win was the best leg of the match, whilst brothers Scott and Andrew Cook both added maximums for the defeated team.

Lee Rodmell's 12-ton haul, including two 180s, wasn't enough to arrest Bar Mez' slide to a 9-2 defeat in their home match with Octagon.

Simon Washington was the Stonehouse outfit's best performer as he nailed a 180 and defeated Rodmell 3-2 in the singles; withstanding an 18-dart leg from his adversary in the process.

Paul Goundry top scored with 11 tons as Victory A came away from their trip to Kings Arms with an 8-3 success.

Despite ending on the wrong side of a defeat, Dave Johns still put up ten tons, whilst the 180s in the match were shared one-per-side with Paul Palmer and Scott Lawrey both contributing.
