FORMER leader of Plymouth City Council Nick Kelly said he suffered a “massive heart attack” at a public meeting over the weekend. Cllr Kelly praised emergency service staff and hospital staff for their roles in his care and said he is now resting and recovering at home.
Posting the update on his health scare to Facebook, Cllr Kelly, leader of the Independent Alliance party, said he was “very, very fortunate” to be alive. He issued a personal thanks to medical staff who assisted him at the scene who “literally” saved his life.
Mr Kelly said: “Just a brief update on my recent health scare. I suffered from a massive heart attack. I’m very, very fortunate to still be alive and not suffered from brain damage.”
