A CITY College Plymouth lecturer who claimed she had been bullied and harassed by her line manager has been awarded over £24,000 in compensation.
Rachael Edgeler, a lecturer in health and social care at the college from August 2020 until she resigned in September 2022, won her claims of unfair constructive dismissal and victimisation. An employment tribunal accepted her argument that she had been subjected to “intimidating and bullying behaviour” by Rachel Rowing-Parker.
The hearing was held in the absence of a representative of the college, after Employment Judge Nicholas Roper said it had paid “scant regard” to the tribunal’s orders to produce documents on time and had unsuccessfully applied for hearings to be adjourned.
