Issaka made his full debut for the Pilgrims in the 2-0 Carabao Cup first-round win against Leyton Orient at Home Park in August, and also appeared as a substitute in the 4-2 defeat by Premier League club Crystal Palace in round two.
Most recently, he has been away with Wales under-19s at their European Championship qualifying round tournament in Montenegro.
The former Truro School student trains with the Argyle first team squad, along with 17-year-old midfielder Caleb Roberts, such is their level of ability already but unless they are needed by Pilgrims’ boss Steven Schumacher on matchdays they still play for the Pilgrims’ under18s.
Issaka has scored a number of goals this season for the under-18s, who had a 100 per cent winning record in all competitions until they lost 2-1 away to Newport County in the EFL Youth Alliance South West Division last Saturday. Roberts played in that fixture but Issaka was on international duty.
Lowry told Herald Sport: “Their schedule is they are first-team players and then if they are not involved in the squad they will come and get some game time with us, so that’s how we manage them.
