Men should challenge 'harmful behaviours'
The Herald|August 25, 2023
PLYMOUTH men are being encouraged to stand up to harmful behaviours that act as a barrier to everyone being safe in the city. It comes as the role of masculinity will be explored at an event next month, as part of the city’s work to combat violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Men should challenge 'harmful behaviours'

Plymouth’s first M.A.N Culture conference will be held this September. The M.A.N Culture network was set up in 2021 and aims to help change the conversation with men about violence against women and girls.

The group is made up of men across the city and provides the space to have honest conversations about masculinity and male violence, address cultural issues regarding equality and stand up to harmful behaviours that act as a barrier to everyone being safe in Plymouth.

On Wednesday, September 6, their first conference will be taking place at the home of Plymouth Argyle. The event is open to individuals, organisations, and institutions from both the city and the broader Devon and Cornwall region.
