New look after big investment in post-war pub

A PLYMSTOCK pub pub has reopened with a new look after a six-figure investment. Drakes Drum on Radford Park Road is now part of pubco Stonegate Group's Craft Union brand after shutting mid-September for an overhaul.

The refurbishment has seen the hostelry increase its covers by 13 with new furniture installed including 'poseur' height tables and new carpets.

The pub also has a new darts area alongside the existing pool table as part of a 'sports zone' which also has HD TVs for showing matches.

Outside, the beer garden has been upgraded with the addition of festoon lighting, new benches, and updated decor. A fresh splash of paint has equipped the pub with its best look yet while new blue signage throughout the Drakes Drum marks the start of a new chapter in the pub's history.
