ONE of Plymouth's most historic pubs will reopen this weekend, with its new tenants asking punters for suggestions as they forecast a tough 2025 for the licensed trade.
Dan Cocks and his partner, Viki Roberts, have taken over at Grade II listed The George, in Plympton. They already run the Edgcumbe Arms, at Cremyll, and will reopen The George at noon tomorrow, after completing a deep clean and maintenance.
The pub has only been closed for about a week, with Dan and Viki working hard to have the St Austell Brewery-owned hostelry ready for the big opening. Dan said he was excited to reopen the 17th Century coaching house and added: "The George is one of Plympton's most historic pubs and is much-loved.
