A PLYMOUTH mum who fell seriously ill while on holiday to Gran Canaria – and very nearly lost her life – is now stuck on the Canary Island as the bill to return her home is out-of-reach for her family.
Karen McIntee and her sister Isy Macleod flew to Gran Canaria for what should have been a relaxing holiday. But they had only been on the sunny island for a short time before Karen, aged 58, started to feel poorly.
Now her family are urgently trying to get Karen back to Plymouth so she can continue to recover from her illness at Derriford Hospital. They have set up a fundraiser in hope of raising the money to fly Karen, who is still very poorly, back home by private air ambulance.
