RENTED SPACE AT THE RANGE HQ IS NO LONGER REQUIRED
WILLIAM TELFORD
Redeveloped site for NHS office staff

A £3.5 million revamp of a landmark Plymouth office block is now complete - meaning the NHS no longer has to pay billionaire Chris Dawson to use his nearby building.

The former Norwich Union building at Brest Road, Derriford, has been transformed and renamed Brittany House. It will be occupied by University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP) staff, under a long lease.

During the redevelopment, hospital bosses leased space at the nearby The Range head office, in William Prance Road, Derriford, on a short-term basis, paying tens of thousands of pounds in rent - including £30,000 for just one month.

Plymouth construction firm Obedair was appointed by the NHS Trust to refurbish Brittany House, formerly known as Norwich Union House, starting in October 2021.
