GLASTONBURY rockers Reef kick off their extensive UK tour with a show in Plymouth later this month where they'll unleash their brand new album Shoot Me Your Ace.

Formed in 1993 and best known for penning, Place Your Hands, one of the biggest rock songs of the 90s, the band enjoyed in excess of three million album sales worldwide, with nine UK Top 40 singles and six UK Top 40 albums.

"For 10 years we had the best laugh," main man Gary Stringer explains, "but in the last 18 months it wasn't so great - I needed a break physically and mentally."

In that time he enjoyed bringing up his kids, and when the muse returned he worked in a variety of incarnations, putting out three albums with acoustic duo Stringer Bessant, and rock band Them Is Me.

"It was great fun," he recalls, "then in 2010, Reef were offered six shows in the UK. We'd had a break for seven years and didn't know how they would go, but they all sold out. All was fine with the band and we did the big festivals like Isle of Wight and Glastonbury."
