TWO best friends from school who have taken on one of Plymouth Hoe’s most recognisable cafes and have big plans for its future are celebrating, after receiving a five-star hygiene rating from health inspectors.
Plymouth born-and-bred pair Bianca Parker and Sarah Lock took on The Promenade Cafe and Bar last year after the previous owners decided to sell up. Seeing an opportunity, they jumped at the chance and have “brought the cafe back to life”.
Now they have revealed big plans for its future, which will include a sensitive extension and a new a sun trap terrace with stunning views of the Promenade, Smeaton’s Tower and the Sound.
The long-time friends say the opportunity to take on the stunning and much-loved spot was almost “like fate” after the previous owners put up the advertising online “by mistake”.
