Surplus M&S food hasn't gone to waste

PLYMOUTH branches of M&S Foodhalls has helped the retailer to donate more than 14 million surplus food packages nationwide.

Stores in the city centre and at Crownhill have helped the retailer's food waste scheme, this year donating 228,208 meals to local charity, Devon & Cornwall Food Action.

It means that since 2015, M&S Foodhalls have donated 70 million surplus food packages to charities and organisations across the country across the UK and Ireland.

This year, the partnership has seen more than 14,331,416 meals donated across the country an increase on last year's 12,958,659.
