Tavi bring in Edgecombe to shore up their defence

IF the alarm bells weren't ringing for Tavistock, then they certainly are now after a miserable Christmas saw them lose 3-2 to relegation rivals Falmouth Town and the club dropping into the Southern League Division One South relegation zone.

The Lambs went into that game with hope and confidence after a stoppage time equaliser at Cribbs another team fighting for survival at Boxing Day. But a disastrous first half had Stuart Henderson's side training 3-0 before a spirited fightback saw Tavi reduce the score to 3-2 before the final whistle blew.

Their New Year's Day Devon derby against Bideford was postponed due to the bad weather, so they head to Larkhall Athletic tomorrow for their first game of 2025 knowing that while performances are generally still OK, results are not - and they have to improve if they are to stave off the threat of relegation.

"The first half an hour killed us," Henderson said, reflecting on that Falmouth defeat. "We were nowhere near it defensively.

"The full-backs were nowhere near it and the players in front of them and around them didn't help them. Ultimately, I pick the team and the team I picked was nowhere near it.
