BALI MUMBA ON HIS EXCITEMENT AT SEASON AHEAD WITH PILGRIMS

BALI Mumba has declared he has 'unfinished business' in the Championship and sees Plymouth Argyle as the best place for him to do that.

The 21-year-old returned to Norwich City for the start of pre-season after his highly successful loan spell with the League One title-winning Pilgrims but it soon became clear his opportunities to play for the Canaries would be limited.

They viewed him as only a rightback, whereas Argyle manager Steven Schumacher regards him as a versatile player who can slot into a variety of roles.

So Mumba jumped at the chance to return to Home Park as the Pilgrims' second £1 million signing in a week, following that of Morgan Whittaker from Swansea City.

Mumba is not new to the Championship, after playing at that level for Peterborough United in the second half of the 2021/22 season.

However, he made only seven starts and three substitute appearances for relegated Posh as the loan did not work out the way he had hoped.

Now, with a year older and with much more first team experience following his stint at Argyle last term, Mumba is ready to tackle the challenge of the Championship again.

Mumba said: "It's unfinished business for me in terms of playing in the Championship. My last time was with Peterborough and it didn't go the way I wanted it to go.
