PLYMOUTH Argyle striker Ben Waine has been selected for the New Zealand squad to take part in the inaugural W Cup tournament in the United Arab Emirates later this month.
All Whites' head coach Darren Bazeley has picked eight players aged 23 or under, including 22-year-old Waine, who will eligible to represent New Zealand at the 2024 Olympics in Paris in July. New Zealand, who are currently 103rd in the FIFA World Rankings, will begin the W Cup tournament against Egypt on Friday, March 22 at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi (kickoff 10pm local time).
