Arsenal
TOP PRIORITY Even before Bukayo Saka left Selhurst Park on crutches, the need for Arsenal to bolster their forward line was clear. Arsenal have struggled in attack at times this season, as shown by goalless draws against Everton and Fulham last month.
WHAT ELSE THEY NEED Depending on how Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu recover from injury, a new right-back on loan could be handy. Jurrien Timber has performed well there, but Arsenal have struggled when Thomas Partey - the only other real option - has played.
POSSIBLE INS Arsenal showed an interest in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko (below, right) last summer, but both players will be difficult to sign now. The same goes for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. A loan may be easier to complete and the Gunners have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani.
POSSIBLE OUTS Arsenal have a wealth of options at left-back, which has grown due to academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly proving he is ready for the first team. Kieran Tierney has six months left on his contract and could leave this month, with Celtic tracking him. Jakub Kiwior is attracting interest from clubs in Italy.
CHELSEA
TOP PRIORITY The news that Wesley Fofana is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and could even miss the rest of the season - has made centre-back a position of need. Benoit Badiashile is also out until next month at least, while Axel Disasi has not convinced, leaving Chelsea thin beyond the firstchoice pair of Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill.
